For more than 100 years Mercator knives have not changed. The design is simple, functional and durable. Already in the army of Kaiser Wilhelm in the 1860s it was widely used. Due to its minimalistic and robust design it is still valued around the world until today.
The sturdy handle and the blade are assembled and riveted by hand. The result is a pocket knife with a sleek design and of only 7 mm in width. The Mercator knife is a sleek all-purpose and table knife.
The handle materials vary between black burnished, powder coated steel, brass and copper.
The shown Mercator K55K “Catknife” has not changed for 145 years. Primarily designed by the Kaufmann brothers the so called “Kaiser Wilhelm” knife was used by soldiers in the first and second world war as an
all-purpose knife. Especially many american GI´s loved the knife and brought it back to the USA where it still has a certain legendary status until today.
The knife with its lockable blade is not only suited for fishing and hunting but also for general outdoor activities. It is also well suited for cutting bread, ham and bacon in the outdoors.
